I experienced an unfortunate life changing event back in April that caused me to take a step back and look at what I want to do with my life. Fortunately it wasn't something too serious, like an illness or something along the lines of that, but it still threw me off track. On the bright side, this unexpected change allowed me to pursue something I've wanted to get into for a long time now; volunteering at an animal shelter. I have a soft spot for animals and would have become a veterinarian, but I don't think I would have been able to handle seeing them die. I love all animals, but cats are my jam. I would hug all of them if I could.
I originally wanted to volunteer at the shelter where I adopted my own furry kid 10 years ago, but they weren't accepting volunteers until mid-July. After researching a couple other places, I landed on Seattle Humane. They do a lot of great work with animals and best of all, they had volunteer roles for pet publicists. I was thrilled to be able to use my photography skills to take photos of some of their adorable, goofballs of fluff. Below are some of the kitties I had the pleasure of getting to know.
